Foundation Accounts

In the case of LNF and IHF, reimbursements are directly transferred to the designated account with the Virginia Tech Foundation. All organizations receiving LNF or IHF funds must have a foundation account number. This is a six digit number, typically beginning with 8. Contact your team’s faculty advisor for assistance obtaining your fund number. Individuals applying for LNF or IHF funding can use the foundation account of a sponsoring department. The Director of Finance coordinates with the College of Engineering Business Office in order to manage the distribution of funds. For LNF or IHF reimbursements, you can submit one reimbursement in order to refund multiple people, because all of the money goes into the same foundation account. Consolidation of similar purchases into a single reimbursement request makes the process easier for everyone involved. The withdrawal process may differ between teams, so it would be best to contact your advisor for details.

Please note that LNF and IHF reimbursements may experience delays on the University side. The DOP and DOF are unable to expedite this process if this is to occur.
