Responsibilities
The Director of Operations is responsible for managing all internal procedures and functions of the SEC. They maintain records of all SEC board meetings and general assembly meetings as well as keeping accurate copies of the SEC's Constitution and Bylaws. The Director of Operations is also expected to act in place of the President in their absence.

Background
Emily Sandt is from Ocean City, Maryland and is pursuing a bachelor's degree in civil engineering at Virginia Tech. Her academic and career interests include project management and sustainable land development. In addition to her involvement with the Student Engineers’ Council, Emily serves as the Conference Chair for the Society of Women Engineers and is an active member of the American Society of Civil Engineers, the College of Engineering Dean's Team, and the professional STEM sorority Alpha Omega Epsilon. Outside the classroom, she enjoys painting, listening to music, going to the beach, and traveling.
